Hey, dolls… It’s been some time since I last posted here on my little corner of this vast digital space. I’ve been keeping a little secret from you guys and although I’m still super anxious about making this announcement I know that now is better than later (when I will regret not being able to share the last little bit I have left with this pregnancy with you guys.) Before I jump into all of your questions I recently received on my Instagram Story I wanted to first talk about my vision for this shoot as well as the pieces I chose to purchase to bring forth this photoshoot to life. But…. If you’d like to know the answers to those questions prior to hearing about the details of me prepping and styling this shoot be sure to click: here
When it came to styling my gender neutral maternity shoot for our surprise baby I wanted something that would be timeless and also fit perfectly within my home. Those of you who have watched my channel over the years may have already noticed I never decorate with personal pictures on the walls as I always intend to go for a higher end look in my home. However, this time I around I really wanted to consider placing perhaps 2-3 frames on my foyer cabinet and my on my nightstands in my master bedroom. I wanted something that would be timeless and also fit my home’s color scheme so after pinteresting my life away in search for a gender-neutral color scheme and finding nothing that captured my attention; I decided to go with white & black based off a maternity picture I pinned several years ago that I fell in love with.
Because I was already on a tight budget I wanted to make sure the girls and I had something cute to wear without breaking the bank. Honestly, you’d probably be surprised to hear that our dresses came in under $100 total for all 3. I went ahead and linked all of the outfit details for both the girls and I in case you were also wanting to recreate a gender-neutral maternity photo shoot with the items I purchased. To be honest, I almost went with the traditional colors I normally gravitate towards can you guys guess what that color is? I’ll give you a moment… Beige/Ivory/Cream LOL!
If you’ve been following me for quite some time you guys know I love all my home decor to be monochromatic and that typically goes the same way for my wardrobe! Thankfully, I allowed my husband to decide which look he wanted to go with (ivory & earth tones or black & white). I’m happy to say not only do I have something different I normally wouldn’t gravitate towards but that also something that fits the aesthetic of my home. I would be more than happy to showcase this gender-neutral maternity photoshoot throughout my home with smaller frames on counter spaces of course lol. ????
Anywho, enough with the rambling! Below you will find a few of the many pictures (more will be showcased in the FAQ post) I received as well as the images below which are the exact items used to create this gender-neutral maternity shoot. If you guys would like for me to go into the details of my soft make-up no makeup look feel free to let me know in the comments I would love to show you how simple it is to recreate!
